The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Pakistan on Monday night and kick-started their royal tour on Tuesday. After meeting school children and visiting the Margallah Hills National Park in Islamabad, Kate and William met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Duchess, who was wearing a blue ethnic salwar suit earlier in the day, changed her outfit for the formal reception. Dressed in a green outfit with a contrast coloured dupatta, Kate opted for stilettos to complete her look. Prince William donned a more formal look in a navy blue suit.
According to a report in Dawn, the Duke and Duchess met various dignitaries at the Prime Minister House. They also attended a lunch which was hosted in their honour. Before meeting PM Imran Khan, Kate and William were welcomed by President Arif Alvi and his wife Samina Arif at his official residence.
The royal couple was accompanied by Thomas Drew, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan; Simon Case, the Principal Private Secretary to the Duke; and Christian Jones, the Communications Secretary to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. PM Imran Khan applauded Kate and William for their endeavors to raise awareness about mental health, climate change, and poverty alleviation, a report in Dawn stated.
Earlier in the day, the royals joined a gathering of children from three different schools taking part in a number of activities to show Pakistan’s effort to meet sustainable development goals at Margallah Hills National Park.
